Fish Farm Thai Restaurant, Hulu Langat, Ampang

It was quite an adventure, I would say, to get to Fish Farm Thai Restaurant as the road is winding, bumpy and narrow. It took about half-and-hour to get there from KL. It is quite easy to find the place as there is a BIG signage of the restaurant at the road side.

We reached about 12 noon and the crowd is still a bit kosong. There were lot of sit still available. The tables and chairs was placed on the wooden planks above the pond and surrounded by trees make the place so cozy. The wooden planks shake every time people walk way by, like the place can roboh at anytime but I doubt this could happened.

We can see from the entrance that the seafood like fishes, prawns, crabs, clams and oysters was being reared by the owner and even the vegetables are organic and the chicken too.

Our foods being served quite fast. We ordered Tilapia BBQ (RM30.00). Beside of being cooked on the charcoal stove, the fish is fully covered with rough salt and some serai makes the aroma ..hmm..yummy.  The taste of the fish is so fresh from the first bite till the end.

The Butter Prawn (RM24-small) is not bad too. Well cooked with curry leave and egg. My kids loved this the most.

Another must order dish and highly recommended is the Tomyam SeaFood (RM25). Enough for 2 to 3 pax. The sup is not that spicy and sour that we thought. The prawns tasted sweet and fresh. Contained with prawns, squids, fish fillet and some oyster mushroom. Even my second son that he himself don't take spicy food also loved it.

Of course, vegetable is must dish for me so I ordered the Stir Fired Spinach with garlic (RM9). Not too oily and ngam ngam the taste.
Salted Egg Yolk Squid (RM18). A kind of unique cooking I would say cos the Fried Squid is covered with creamy egg yolk. But we don't really like this dish cos the taste. Not really that 'Uhm'. We can't really taste the salted egg yolk.

We were recommended to try out the Fishcake (RM12-Small). Not too bad the taste.

Well last but not least, we ordered the fresh Oyster (RM10/pc). The oyster was absolutely fresh. Top with the lemon juice makes the taste more fresh. As you can see from my picture, your mouth will be full if you slot in the whole oyster..Highly recommended by me. Wow! Thumb Up!

Hmm..it was a bit disappointing cos we didn't order my favorite crab as the price is expensive (RM90/kg).
Besides they do serve other Thai snacks like Lord Chong and kuih muih.

After eating for the first time there, we make another trip recently during the Mother's Day but is at night this time. The way there are more adventures compared the first time cos there is totally no street light. We have to totally rely on our car's light to there. Despite of the crowd, we manage to get a table easily.

This time round, we ordered the Spinach Sup (RM10-small). The sup taste great. Mixture of egg and ginger makes spinach more sweet.

The Fried Chicken with Lemon Leave (RM15-small) taste great. We like the aroma from lemon and the chicken's texture is tender with the skin is crispy. Sekali sampai, habis terus from my kids and husband.

The Steam Tilapia with Soy Sauce (RM30) is fresh. We are worry of the muddy smell in the fish but our worries goes away with every bites, the strong garlic and soy sauce had covered the muddy smell. The fish is fresh and soft.

The Chili Clams (RM16) taste OK but a little spicy. There is a strong mixture taste from the Onion Leaves, Onions, Chili and Oyster Sauce in this dish. The Clams are fresh of course but most of the clams are closed when it being serve and is empty when we open it.

My Mom-In-Law requested for another vege and I ordered Four Type vege with Belacan (RM10-Small). As for this dish, we not really like it as the eggplant and ladies finger is kinda of 'tua" and hardly chew. We can't really taste the belacan taste too.

After the experience of eating there at noon and also night. We prefer to have dinner again cos the weather is breezy and accompanied by gentle Thailand songs. There were lots of flies in the afternoon but the owner light it with lemongrass candle that shoo..the flies away.

The bill came up to RM196.90 for lunch and RM121.50 for dinner with drinks and rice. Pretty much affordable with the total dishes we ordered.
